Jacqueline Fernandez, a Sri Lankan actor hailing from Bahrain's Manama was raised in an ethnically diverse family. Her father, Elroy Fernandez is an Sri Lankan. Padukone was born to badminton star Prakash Padukone. She was born in Bangalore and born in Copenhagen. When she was in her teens she competed in badminton championships at national level. She later quit the sport in order to make a profession as a designer. Padukone was born in Mangalore, India. Her native language Konkani is her mother tongue. Her lineage hails from Padukone village in Kundapura Taluk in the Udupi District of the State of Karnataka, India. Prakash Padukone has retired as an international badminton player and her mother is also a travel agent.
